About
Construction Diagnostics was established in 2024 by Rick Young. Rick has more than 40 years experience in the construction industry, 30 years of which come in Site Supervision and Management of most building disciplines. From new build to civils, and in the field of investigative analysis of land structures, buildings components and materials, there isn’t much Rick hasn’t done. In 2018 Rick was promoted to Associate Director and assumed the role of head of the Surveying Department at his previous employer. This role included responsibility for the co-ordination and overseeing of departmental workload and job allocation, including all aspects of building surveying work from initial quotation through site visits and inspections, to reporting and final invoicing.
During his 23 years at his previous employer, Rick undertook small and large projects alike, completing assessments of large accommodation blocks for both the public and private sector, including the completion of Asbestos Surveying and Reporting for multi storey accommodation and commercial, for a London Borough Council. Rick was also assigned the prestigious works for Faber Mansell for their ‘Cooling the Tube’ project where extensive surveying was undertaken to 45 London underground stations and completed on a tight timescale.
Having always intended to branch out on his own, the opportunity finally arose in late 2024 when Rick founded Construction Diagnostics, a comprehensive Structural Investigation & Material Testing Consultancy
